After last nights win, the Leafs have SERIOUS options to make the playoffs.

Under the old management regime, the goal was to be a playoff team.
The current regime has won in the past and expects to win again, so getting the best pick possible only increase their chances of achieving that goal in a few years.
The future does look bright, with the cores of Boston, Washington, Montreal, Pittsburgh now in their late 20s/early 30s I think the east will be dominated by Columbus/Tampa/Leafs/Buffalo in the not too distant future.
